Christ calls each of his disciples to faithfully follow him. But did you know that he also wants his followers to pass on their lives so that others might faithfully follow him as well? Put simply, a disciple of Christ must reproduce himself. The way that God has always intended for His kingdom to grow is through true disciples of Christ reproducing other disciples. Come this Sunday and learn how God can work through us to grow Christ's Church. 		 

November 6, 2005 What Have You Done For Me Lately?    John 6:22-34
 

In sports, you are considered only as good as your last game. In the arts, you are only as good as your last performance. In literature, you are only as good as your last book. In business, you are only as good as your last quarter's numbers. Everyone stands around us asking, "What can you do next?" Prove your worth... prove yourself and more important than anything else, "Come through for us." But what if you aren't an athlete or an artist or a writer or a CEO, but rather the Messiah, the Creator, the Savior of the World? Come this Sunday and learn that we are not the first culture to ask, "What have you done for me lately?" especially when it comes to God. 		 

October 16, 2005 Who's In Charge?    John 6:10-15
 

As we walk with God it can be difficult to trust Him to take care of our needs. We often have our own ideas about what God's care for us is supposed to look like. Instead of believing that God will give us the grace to cope with the struggles of this life, we end up trying to force God's hand to meet our needs and give us the victory on our own terms. You're invited to take the next step in your journey with God and ponder what it means to submit to the God who is in charge. 		 

October 2, 2005 A Faith Beyond Food    John 6:1-9
 

Do you ever get discouraged as you compare your abilities with the gifts of others around you? In a world of talented people, it can be real easy to think that what you have to offer really doesn't matter that much. So what is it that makes a gift great in God's service? Come this Sunday and be challenged to have a faith beyond your circumstances -- a faith firmly rooted in the God who can take what you have and use it to glorify Himself and grace others.

Sometimes when we read the Bible we should find great comfort; other times we should experience discomfort. At times when we read God's Word we should feel great support and other times we should feel like the props have been kicked out from underneath us. How important is it to be serious about hearing and obeying all God has said in His Word? Come learn about people in Jesus day who sought their own agenda when reading and applying God's Word and discover how we can avoid that same danger.

What are you doing to make your life better? Are you doing things that are drawing you to or away from God? So often we are paralyzed by our own desire for a better life that doesn't have God at its center. But Christ calls us to enjoy a relationship with him that will truly bring healing in our life and allow us to enjoy all God has for us.

We all would like life to go a bit more smoothly at times, wouldn't we? But does a life of ease always mean God is blessing us? Sometimes it seems that God chooses to "bless" us with burdens. He does this because the easy road is not always the right road. Could we be missing God's will in our lives because we are constantly looking for shortcuts around suffering? This Sunday we will look more closely at Jesus' decision to leave a seemingly great situation and go down into valley of trial. Come learn why God wants us to trust Him deeply even when life isn't working the way we planned.

People need the love of God. And God has given us the pleasure of demonstrating His love, both with our words and by our lives. But doesn't it sometimes seem like sharing Christ is more like a heavy burden as we get resistance from a disbelieving and hostile world? Come be encouraged by what God can do through you as you offer His love to those who so desperately need it. 		 

August 14, 2005 Hiding Under the Covers    John 4:10-30
 

Do you believe deep in your heart that God's love can reach you no matter what you've done or will do? Or are you hiding under a cover of shame because of the things you've done? Maybe you think that God can't love you, at least not as much as He does others, because He knows the worst about you and can't get past the stuff in your past. Come this Sunday and discover that there is nothing you could ever do to make God love you less. Nothing. 		 

July 31, 2005 Contact    John 4:1-9
 

As we look more closely at the life of Jesus we learn that lost people do indeed matter to God. Time tends to soften history so that the people Christ hung out with 2000 years ago seem more safe and sanitized than the ones who appear so far from him today. But Jesus intentionally rubbed shoulders with the outcast of society, those who seemed furthest from God, because he wanted more than anything to lead them into a relationship with God. Come hear about an encounter Jesus had with an outcast woman and learn what kind of contact God wants us to have with those who are far from Him.

Someone once said, "It takes more grace than I can tell to play the second fiddle well." Playing the second fiddle, or coming in second place, has never been a greatly desired option in the history of mankind, but it is probably at its lowest in popularity in our world today. We all struggle somewhat when we aren't noticed or given credit for our accomplishments. We live in a world where jealousy is accepted, even expected, when someone else gets the promotion or the praise instead of us. That's why you won't want to miss the remarkable story of a man who actually accepted, even enjoyed, being "second fiddle". How important is it that there be some evidence of the fruit of obedience for our profession of faith to be credible? If there is no fruit of obedience in our lives, can it be said that we have true faith in God? "If God would perform some great miracle in my life then I'd believe in Him." "If God would just come through for me in this difficult time then my faith in Him would deepen?"
